FD Recruit is seeking an experienced Portfolio CFO to join their client, a rapidly growing technology and manufacturing business, on a part-time consulting basis. This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic financial leadership during a critical growth phase.
Working closely with the CEO, you will assess the current finance function, shape future capabilities, and provide high-level financial insight to support informed decision-making. This engagement requires a seasoned professional with a track record of supporting clients on a part-time CFO consulting basis, and offers a chance to make a significant impact on a dynamic organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1Act as a senior strategic advisor to the CEO, offering financial insight and commercial input on major decisions
2Assess growth plans and ensure financial strategy, tools, and reporting are aligned with evolving business needs
3Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing finance team, its structure, and processes
4Identify gaps, resourcing needs, and opportunities for improved efficiency or automation
5Recommend and implement improvements in reporting quality, workflows, controls, and systems usage
6Mentor and support the finance team to elevate overall team performance

Strengthen management reporting, including dashboarding, forecasting, and KPI alignment
8Review financial controls and ensure they support a scaling organisation
Requirements
Experienced CFO or FD with a proven track record in high-growth businesses
Experience in larger revenue business is essential to bring best practice
Experience in manufacturing or a product-related business
Excellent analysis experience
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to act as a strategic partner to the leadership team
Prior experience as a Fractional, Portfolio or Interim Finance Director or CFO
